HealthFirst Bluegrass School-Based Clinics
School-based clinics are key to providing comprehensive, patient-centered health care. They’re conveniently located in schools near where patients live, go to school and work. HealthFirst Bluegrass has clinics in ten schools across the Greater Lexington region. Appointments are available to all children, and at some locations, to all community members.

School-Based Health Centers Change the Outcome
School-based health centers (SBHCs) transform children’s access to comprehensive health services. Health is a critical factor in setting children up for success. Healthy children are more likely to attend school ready to learn. They’re also more likely to graduate. Our clinics operate within schools to provide easier access to care.
SBHCs are able to:
- Increase access to health care
- Reduce emergency room use
- Lower Medicaid costs
- Increase the use of mental health counseling
HFBG School-Based Clinic Partnerships
We partner with Fayette County Public Schools and the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department to provide school-health services. We also provide primary and acute care for both students and other community members.
