Learn About Our Board of Directors
Use your voice to transform the health of our community.
We seek to enhance quality of life through transformative health care for all. To do that, we need the input of community members. Our board members help us identify and champion patients’ needs. They also make sure our process helps patients navigate the healthcare system.
Responsibilities
Community board members provide feedback, insight and new perspectives on our current programs. They also help shape the future of HealthFirst Bluegrass and integrated health care in Lexington.
Qualifications
We want a board that is as diverse as our patients. As a requirement, 51% of our board members must be patients of HealthFirst Bluegrass. Some board members work in health care or adjacent fields. Others have particular insight on housing, substance use, food or legal support. All members have an interest in volunteering to support the community. There are no official qualifications for becoming a board member beyond a passion for improving our community’s well-being.
Commitment
Each term is two years with a limit of three total terms. Board members participate in two meetings per month: One board meeting and one subcommittee meeting. Based on what you’re passionate about, you get to choose the subcommittee on which you serve.
